The Women's
Empowerment Institute
of Cameroon
The Women's Empowerment Institute Cameroon
(WEICAM) is an organization that promotes human rights
and the democratic process in Cameroon.

WEICAM works especially with organized women groups,
using these local mechanisms to put more women in
leadership and decision-making positions.

To achieve these goals, WEICAM has several programs that
enable women to build a strong positive self image, develop
their potential, be included in leadership roles, and engage in
activities that will raise their living standards.
Recently, WEICAM's Executive Director Geraldine
Chin gave an interview to the weekly newspaper
L'Effort Camerounais on the work WEICAM does in Bui
Division and the challenges of running an NGO in
Cameroon. You can check out the published interview
here.

Also, we will soon be placing online more materials
from our Youth Training program and are looking
forward to welcoming some new volunteers this
summer. Check back soon for those updates.
